Muzaffarnagar (UP): A man killed his 20-year-old daughter allegedly for family honour and later surrendered before the police in Nai Mandi area of Muzaffarnagar district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police here said.
Police said Shahid, a resident of Kukra village, killed his daughter Shahnuma with a sharp-edged weapon over an affair and escaped from the spot.
"The body of the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood at the entrance of the house," they said.
Police said after some time Shahid returned and surrendered. Superintendent of Police (City) Satya Narain Prajapati said the matter was being investigated and evidence was being collected on the basis of which further action will be taken.
