Bahraich (UP): A 22-year-old youth hanged himself and committed suicide allegedly after killing his 15-year-old sister in Khareighat area of Bahraich district, police sources said here on Sunday.
Police sources said that Shayama Devi, a resident of Baduapur village, was hacked to death with a spade inside her house late on Saturday night. "The body of Shyama's brother Mithilesh was found hanging from a tree near his house. It is being said that Mithilesh committed suicide after killing his sister," they said.
Superintendent of Police Vrinda Shukla along with Circle Officer Anil Kumar Singh inspected the spot. "A case has been lodged on the complaint of the village chowkidar's son. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination," they said.
