VHP demands ending of govt control on Hindu temples in India

VHP demands ending of govt control on Hindu temples in India
, Monday, 5 April 2021 (18:58 IST)
Hamirpur(HP): The Himachal unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has demanded that the management of over four lakh Hindu temples, which is now being run by the government, be handed over to Hindu organisations for their smooth functioning.

Organising secretary of the state VHP Neeraj Kumar, while talking to reporters on Sunday evening, said that in Himachal Pradesh too, there were 29 such temples that were under the control of the Government owned trusts but were in bad shape. They should also be decontrolled and given to the Hindus to run their functioning.

He said that by handing over the control of the temples to the Hindus, the income of the temples could be used for setting up of Hindu based Universities, research centers and other related organisations and would be helpful for all.

It was shocking to point out that by closing the inns and free langars in various temples of the government owned trusts, the government had played with the sentiments of the people (devotees) that were visiting them for paying their obeisance to respective deities.

The VHP leader demanded that at least 50 per cent serais be opened and free langar made available for the pilgrims failing which, the number of the pilgrims would go down in the coming months denting the temples’ income.

After the meeting of the district unit of the organisation, Mr Kumar announced that Gunjam Gautam would head the organisation in the district. The meeting was also attended by state satsang head, Ramesh parmar, Zonal organising secretary, Ashwani Sharma and Zonal secretary, Pankaj Bhaartiya.

Earlier, addressing the workers of the organisation, Neeraj Kumar warned them of the activities of the ‘Love jihad’ and told them to work with utter dedication for strengthening the Hindus all over World and to end such malpractices from society. (UNI)
