Auraiya (UP): A bid to kidnap a girl was foiled when the vehicle of the kidnappers overturned after being chased by the villagers in Bidhuna area of Auraiya district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, police sources said here.

Police sources said that Kiran Kumar, a resident of Bhaipur village, has three daughters Ruchi, Julie and Shubhi.

"Ruchi and Julie are married and live in Gurugram and Shubhi had gone to meet them recently. On Friday all the three sisters came back to celebrate the birthday of their brother Arun," they said.

Police sources said that the incident took place when the three sisters along with Arun were going to their village on an e-rickshaw.
