Srinagar: Police personnel carried a severely ill patient on their shoulders from snowbound upper reaches of Ganderbal in the Kashmir Valley to a Public Health Centre following a SOS from the distressed family.
The police station at Ganderbal received a call at about 11.30 pm that Shahnawaz Ahmad, a resident of Waliwar, was suffering from severe illness and needed help to go to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, a police officer said on Thursday.
Amid snowfall and slippery road conditions when no vehicle could ply, the police personnel picked up the patient on their shoulders from the snowbound Waliwar area and shifted him to the Public Health Centre Lar in Ganderbal district.
“Amid heavy snowfall, #GanderbalPolice during night hour's saved a precious life by shifting a patient to PHC for treatment...” Ganderbal police tweeted. (UNI)
