Karnataka: Woman kidnapped, stripped & raped in Yadagiri; 4 accused arrested

Yadagiri: A woman in Yadagiri was allegedly kidnapped, stripped and raped by four persons, police said here on Monday.

The incident had allegedly taken place nearly a year back, but it came to light only on Sunday when a video went viral on social media.

The police succeeded in locating the woman, who registered a complaint of kidnap and rape against the four people, he added.

According to Yadagiri SP CB Vedhmurthy, the woman alleged that she was kidnapped from the Yadagiri bus stand and taken in a car and later raped.

Based on the complaint of the woman, the police swung into action on Monday morning and arrested two of the accused. After interrogating them, they succeeded in arresting the remaining two accused, he said.

All the four accused have been arrested and will be booked under appropriate sections of the IPC and will be produced in court soon, Vedhmurthy said.

In the video, the woman is being abused by the perpetrators with filthy abuse and mercilessly beaten up with a stick.

One of the accused tries to touch some parts of the woman's body. Unable to cope with the assault, she tries to escape, but the accused chases her.

The accused further tortured the woman by flashing the head lights of a vehicle and mobile torch on her face. The woman can be seen in agony as she is unable to bear the pain, she pleads for help.

The accused also are heard mentioning something about Rs 13,000 to Rs 14,000 and asking the woman to return it in the morning. (UNI)
