New Delhi: The new Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is in the national capital on his first visit after taking over the reins of the state, today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here. "The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri @yogi_adityanath met PM Shri @narendramodi. @CMOfficeUP," a tweet from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said. In the meeting with the Home Minister, both the leaders discussed about matters concerning law and order issues in the state, BJP sources said.
The BJP had promised to bring about drastic improvement in the law and order situation in the northern state, which they said, has suffered immensely during last five years under Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Government. The Chief Minister also met Finance Minister Arun Jailey. Both Ministers of State for Finance -- Santosh Gangwar and Arjun Ram Meghawal were present on the occasion. Yogi Adityanath also met BJP chief Amit Shah.
Although nothing has been disclosed, it is learnt in the meeting with Mr Shah, the UP Chief Minister also discussed about portfolio allocation for his Council of Ministers. Besides Yogi, 44 ministers were sworn in on Sunday in Lucknow bringing back the saffron party back in power after 15 years long gap. (UNI)
