1st Test between India and Sri Lanka ends in nail-biting draw

Kolkata: Skipper Virat Kohli's maiden century (104 not out) at Eden Gardens and Indian pace trio's devastating burst were the toast of the final day of the 5-day 1st Test match between India and Sri Lanka, which ended in a dramatic draw.

India struck hard in the final hours taking seven Sri Lanka's wickets in 75 runs in 26.3 overs after scoring 352/8 declared but time ran out as dusk fell around 1627 hours forcing the umpires to call off the play.Sri Lanka needed 231 runs to win and ended st 75 for loss of 7 wickets in 26.3 overs.
