Hyderabad: Telangana Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy informed the Assembly today that 200 "She Teams" of the state police department were working effectively to provide safety and security for women in the state.
Replying to a question from members in the house, the Minister said the teams mostly operated near the bus stands and educational institutions to check offenders. Training was also being imparted to women on self- defence.
The "She Teams", it may be mentioned, were formed in 2014 to ensure safety of women.The teams are engaged in round the clock surveillance of the city's hot spots to check harassment of women and eve teasing.(UNI)
