Lahore: With less than a week to go for the Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan's bowler Usman Qadir wanted to imitate his leg-spinner father, late Abdul Qadir, to win a match against India at the Asia Cup, starting August 28 in the UAE.
India and Pakistan will square off in the continental tournament on August 28 in Dubai.
"My father had good performances against India. I also want to follow in his footsteps and perform well. If I get a chance to play against India in the Asia Cup, I will definitely take advantage of this opportunity," Geo News quoted Qadir as saying.
The 29-year-old leg-spinner, who has represented Pakistan in 18 T20 internationals and one ODI, added that, "Following Pakistan's performance against the Netherlands, we will get to see good results in Asia Cup against all teams including India."
India holds the overall head-to-head by 8-5 in its favour, with only one of the 14 matches at Asia Cup ending in no result.
With each day passing, the excitement surrounding much anticipated clash between the arch rivals, India and Pakistan, building up to another level. (UNI)
