Asian Games 2023: Men's 10m air rifle team bags India's first gold

Hangzhou: Shooters Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankksh Patil and Divyansh Singh Panwar scored a world record 1893.7 in the men's 10m air rifle event to win India's first gold medal at the Asian Games 2023.

India were in a race with the Republic of Korea and China, who settled for silver and bronze, respectively, for the top spot at the podium.

Tomar and Patil made the individual final after qualifying third and fifth, respectively.

However, Panwar did not advance to the final, despite finishing eighth, due to the Asian Games' rule of only two shooters allowed from a nation to feature in the final. (UNI)
