Bengaluru: The length at which the Australians have gone to prepare for the upcoming four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India is simply amazing. They are practising on worn pitches, having turn and bounce to negotiate Indian spinners.
This came to light after pictures of training pitches went viral on social media. The first India-Australia Test kickstarts on February 9 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.
Cricket Australia (CA) informed that their players were practising on three main pitches at KSCA Stadium at Alur in the outskirts of Bengaluru. The worn pitches have been prepared by KSCA, it stated.
Amazingly, Team Australia has flown Ravichandran Ashwin duplicate Mahesh Pithiya to bowl at their batsmen in the net to negate the star Indian spinner's tricks on worn pitches. (UNI)
