Sylhet: Ikram Chowdhury, BCB's security liaison officer at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, died of a heart attack while performing his professional duty at the venue during the fourth day of the opening day between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe on Wednesday.
SICS venue manager Joydeep Das confirmed the news to the Daily Star, saying that Ikram was taken to a nearby hospital after he suffered a heart attack this morning.
"He was in the stadium. He suffered a massive heart attack and we immediately took him to Al Haramain Hospital. He was taken to CCU and then ICU. He was also in life support but as it was a massive attack, he couldn't be saved," Joydeep said.
Ikram started working at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium as BCB's security liaison officer from 2014. His death brought grief among the people with whom he worked closely in those years.
BCB has expressed deep shock and sadness at the sudden and untimely demise of Ikram.
