London: In a big blow to the IPL's new franchise Gujarat Titans, England batter Jason Roy on Tuesday pulled out of the upcoming tournament citing extended bio-bubble stay.
Roy, who was signed by Gujarat Titans for his base price of Rs 2 crore at the auction, took to Instagram and said, "It's with a heavy heart I have decided to pull out of this years tournament". "...with everything going on in the world over the last 3 years it's added up and taken a toll on me. I feel it's only right I spend some quality time with my family. As well as spending time working on myself and my game over the next couple of months leading in to a busy year."
This is not the first time that Roy has decided to not participate in the IPL, having opted out due to personal reasons in 2020 when he was picked by Delhi Capitals for his base price of Rs 1.5 crore. (UNI)
