New Delhi:A Delhi Court on Tuesday refused the anticipatory bail to wrestler Sushil Kumar accused in the Chhatrasal stadium brawl that led to the death of 23-year-old wrestler Sagar Rana.
"In the present case, the allegations against the applicant accused are serious in nature. From the perusal of the record of investigation so far, it reveals that prima facie the applicant/accused is the main conspirator and FIR is not an encyclopedia. The statement of the eyewitnesses is there. So at this stage, the Court does not incline to grant anticipatory bail," LiveLaw quoted Additional Sessions Judge Jagdish Kumar as saying.

The Delhi Police on Monday announced Rs 1 lakh reward for any information or leads about the three-time Olympic medalist. A reward of Rs 50,000 was announced for the information about co-accused Ajay.

An FIR under IPC section 302 (punishment for murder) and 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) has been filed by the Delhi police.

A Delhi Court on Saturday issued Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Kumar as he is on the run in the case.

Wrestler Rana, receiving training at the Chhatrasal Stadium, died while two of his friends were injured after they were allegedly assaulted by Sushil Kumar and some other wrestlers on May 4, at the Stadium.

The victims have alleged that Sushil and his associates had abducted Rana from his house in Model Town. Sushil wanted to teach Rana a lesson for bad-mouthing him in front of other wrestlers, police said. (UNI)
