In the first session, Kohli could not add to his overnight 44, was trapped in front of stumps by Jamieson. Pant, on the other hand, played a loose drive to get caught at slip by Tom Latham.
Ajinkya Rahane (49 off 117) seemed to have got through a tough patch and played some good shots but threw his wicket away to be caught at square leg off Wagner.R Ashwin chipped in with a valuable 22 off 27 in difficult conditions.
