COVID-19: India reports 14,306 new cases, 443 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has reported 14,306 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours in the country, along with 443 related fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry on Monday.

The recovery rate touched 98.18 per cent, said the ministry, as 18,762 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients in the country so far to 3,35,67,367.

“The Active Caseload falls below the 2 lakh mark and is presently at 1,67,695, which is the lowest in 239 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.49 per cent of the country's total Positive Cases since 2020 March.

“The daily positivity rate is 1.43 per cent, which is less than 2 per cent for last 21 days, whereas weekly positivity rate is 1.24 per cent which also remains less than 2 per cent for the last 31 days now,” the Ministry said.

The testing capacity across the country continues to expand. In the last 24 hours a total of 9,98,397 tests had been being conducted across the country. India has so far conducted over 60.07 crore people.

In the last 24 hours, India administered 12,30,720 vaccine doses taking the coverage to 102.27 Crore as per provisional reports till 7 am on Monday,” the ministry said.

The data suggested that, more than 107.22 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through the direct state procurement category.

“More than 12.75 Crore balance and unutilized COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered,” the data said. (UNI)
