CSK Chairman Sabaretnam passes away

Chennai: L Sabaretnam, a veteran in cement industry and Chairman of IPL franchisee Chennai Super Kings (CSK) passed away here on Sunday. He was 80.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters.

Sabaretnam was well-known in the business community and was at the helm of leading industry bodies like Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He had served as the Executive Director Chettinad Cement for a long time and as Independent Director on the Board of Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited.

He was Advisor for India Cements and Director and CEO of Coromandel Sugars.

He was a patron of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Music Academy and has served as Trustee of T S Narayanasamy College of Arts and Science and Syndicate Member of Annamalai University, Chidambaram. (UNI)
