CWG 2022, Day 9: India wins 4 Gold medals with 3 in wrestling

New Delhi: India won four Gold Medals on Day 9, with wrestlers Naveen, Ravi Dahiya and Vinesh Phogat winning their final bouts, while para-shuttler Bhavina Patel won her Table Tennis final at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.

Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Ravi Kumar Dahiya defeated Nigeria’s Ebikewenimo Welson in the final by technical superiority 10-0 to clinch top honour on his CWG debut of men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling at the Coventry Stadium and Arena.

Vinesh Phogat wins gold in women's 53kg freestyle wrestling. This is the third consecutive time Phogat has won gold in Commonwealth Games.

Naveen beat Muhammad Sharif of Pakistan in 74 kg Men’s Freestyle to win the third Wrestling Gold Medal of the day.  (Inputs from UNI)
