New Delhi: West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo has said that he owes a lot of the success in his career to the faith shown in him by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) management and he wants to do something special for MS Dhoni, who is in the twilight of his international career.
"CSK remade Dwayne Bravo. At one point of time there were doubts (I was having). My international career - dropped from the Test team, in and out of ODIs. Playing for CSK rebuilt my brand and that flamboyant cricketer who had a promising start to international career,'' the Windies cricketer said in the new episode of Cricbuzz in Conversation.

''Joining CSK was the rebirth of that. I enjoyed every moment of it. I've had most of my success there - winning two IPLs, purple caps, Champions League, and still going," he added. The all-rounder also spoke how CSK persisted with players like him and Shane Watson and gave their careers a second lease of life.

''In other teams, if you don't perform, you feel the pressure. With CSK, you don't feel that.Shane Watson openly said if he was in another franchise he would've either been dropped or would've thought about retiring. I don't think you'll see a franchise like CSK again. A lot of credit for that has to go to Dhoni and Fleming,'' Bravo said.

Bravo, who has been instrumental in CSK's successful run since 2011, has picked up 104 wickets for the franchise. He has also won two Purple Caps and two IPL winners' medals in his time with the Chennai franchise.

Bravo has grown to form a special bond with Dhoni, for whom he has all the respect in the world, and, again, it originates from the faith his captain has shown in him.

The all-rounder hosted a birthday party for Dhoni when India were on tour of the West Indies, and now he's even got plans in place to release a song as a tribute to the man who's shaped the career of so many players.''I've asked myself many times, why someone like MS has so much faith in me. My own board and selectors don't have the same faith. But Mahi respects my talent and the way I play the game. That means a lot to me,

I wanted to do something for him. He's coming to the end of his career, he's had a great career. He had a big impact on my career along with many others,'' he said.Shedding more light on the song, Dwayne Bravo said he is yet to complete the composition but said he came up with the idea to pay tribute to his CSK teammate, MS Dhoni.

"The Mahi song... I haven't completed the entire track as yet. I still want to work on the music and some other lyrics I want to put in there. I was thinking...there is not anyone who has done a song as a tribute to one particular athlete. I was coming up with ideas," Bravo said.(UNI)
