Samara: Brazil thrashed Mexico 2-0 in the round of 16 making their way into quarter-finals here on Monday.Both the teams remained goalless in the first half.

But it was Neymar who scored in the 51st minute taking 1-0 lead while Roberto Firmino 88th minute strike doubled it making 2-0.However, Mexico did not play as expected and exited from the last 16 for the seventh successive World Cup.(UNI)
