Kolkata: Former India footballer and renowned coach Subhas Bhowmick, passed away here on Saturday. He was 72.Bhowmick was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kolkata for the past few days.He was suffering from kidney-related complications and chest pain.A diabetic, Bhowmick underwent coronary bypass surgery 23 years ago.Bhowmick played for both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.He was also a bronze-medallist with the Indian team at the Asian Games in 1970.West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her sorrow at the passing away of Bhowmick.
