Pune:- Unseeded pair of Christopher Rungkat(Indonesia) & André Göransson (Sweden) clinched their maiden ATP Tour title with a thrilling win over duo of Jonathan Erlich(Israel) and Andrei Vasilevski(Belarus) in the Tata open Mahrashtra final at Pune. Rungkat and Goransson edged the final 6-2,3-6,10-8(Super tie breaker) after a hard-fought contest that lasted 1 hour, 11 minutes.
After the match Rungkat said " I couldn't believe that we have won it. I turned pro 12 years ago and first tour title is very special. We were playing in LA last year and made choice to play in Pune. I think that turned out to be good choice."
Goransson accepted Rungkat facebook friend request. " We started playing in last october 2019, he(Rungkat) contacted me via facebook and asked to play some tournaments in Asia. I've never been in this continent. We played few tournaments in China and our chemistry was good from the intial days. After this win, we will be playing the bangalore challenger."
When Goransson was asked about the sponsors support, he added " Solinco strings provides me racquets and they very good. But i don't have any sponsors that arrange my logistics."
