VIDEO: G20 leaders visit Rajghat, pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with G20 leaders paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat in Delhi on Sunday.
 
Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “At the iconic Rajghat, the G20 family paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi - the beacon of peace, service, compassion and non-violence. As diverse nations converge, Ghandi ji’s timeless ideals guide our collective vision for a harmonious, inclusive and prosperous global future.”
 
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, on X, wrote, “PM Narendra Modi ji and global leaders pay solemn tributes to Mahatma Gandhi ji. The G20 family remains steadfast in their resolve for a harmonious, sustainable and prosperous global future.”
 
Describing Gandhi as one of the greatest persons to have walked the earth, Pradhan said his thoughts, ideals and teachings inspire and influence the world in several ways. "India’s advocacy for the inclusion of the African Union into the G20 family is also inspired from the Gandhian philosophy of representation and recognition of all voices,” Pradhan tweeted.

The minister said world leaders’ gathering at Rajghat to pay homage to Gandhi on the sidelines of G20 summit in India "is a wonderful testament of the relevance of ‘Gandhianism’ in today’s world".
 
"As the G20 family stands firm in its mission to deliver global goods, grateful to PM Narendra Modi ji for invoking the legacy of ‘Sabarmati Ke Sant’ in bringing the world together,” he wrote. (UNI)
