Kolkata: BCCI's president-elect Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday said that he would seek opinion from the national selection committee's members on Mahendra Singh Dhoni's future and then he would give his opinion on the issue.It is to be noted that once Dhoni told selectors that three players are not fit, which was also filmed in his biopic "MS Dhoni the untold story". According to sources in BCCI, one name was former captain Sourav Ganguly.
"I will find out from the selectors when I meet them on October 24. We will find out what the selectors are thinking and then I will put forth my opinion," Ganguly told media.
 
Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly would take charge the post of president of  Board of Control for Cricket in India on October 23.MS Dhoni after India's exist from World Cup in England has not been in news after he volunteered to be in Kashmir with the Indian Army.
 
Dhoni is also unlikely to feature in three-match T20 series against Bangladesh, the team for which is set to be picked on October 24. While Dhoni has not announced his international retirement, the selectors said that they intend to move forward, keeping next year's World T20 in mind.
 
Ganguly also said that he would like to speak to Dhoni and know what he wants. "We will have to see what Dhoni wants. I will also speak to him what he wants to do and what he does not want to do."
 
He said that since the former India captain is on a sabbatical, he had little clarity on the matter, "Since I was not in the picture, it maybe a case that it's not clear with me as of now. Now will be in a position to find out and then will decide on the way forward."
 
The former India captain made it clear that he will speak to the selectors and captain once he takes charge at the AGM on October 23.(UNI)
