New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday asked the BCCI to file a reply within four weeks, after hearing a petition filed by former Indian cricketer, S Sreesanth, who was banned by the board from playing the gentleman's game.
A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud, after hearing the petition filed by Sreesanth, asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India, to file a detailed reply within four weeks. The BCCI had contended that it was an open and shut case against the fast bowler, Sreesanth, as his telephone conversations clearly indicated that he was illegally taking money to knowingly and intentionally bowl no balls during a IPL 2013 cricket match.Sreesanth had subsequently been barred from playing cricket.(UNI)
