New Delhi: After a glittering 171-run knock against Australia which made her an overnight sensation in the cricketing world, India vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur today revealed that the team's next focus will be on the upcoming T20 world Cup, slated next year in West Indies.Speaking to mediapersons at an event organised by the BCCI to felicitate the Indian eves for their outstanding show in the just concluded ICC Women's World Cup 2017, the Punjab batswomen said,"Playing Big Bash was a very big achievement for me.I learned a lot there and that helped me a lot in the World Cup.

I hope more Indian players get the opportunity post the World Cup.It has only been Smriti Mandhana and myself so far." "If women's IPL happens, other countries' players will come and play here, and sharing the dressing room with international players will be a big confidence booster for the local players," added Harmanpreet.

Commenting on their next goal, the 28-year-old said,"We will now aim at the T20 World Cup, scheduled next year.The confidence we gained in this World Cup will be an advantage there." Significantly, the Moga girl made headlines after slamming a scintillating 171-run knock against Australia in the semifinals of the World Cup, which ousted the six-time champions from the tournament.(UNI)
