Hima Das scripts history, wins gold at World U-20 Athletics Championships

Tampere, Finland: Eighteen-year-old Assamese girl Hima Das has made India proud by clinching gold in women's 400m final race in the IAAF world cup Under-20 Athletics Championship here.

The sprinter, on Thursday, scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a gold at world level.

Celebrations broke out in the Indian camp when Das, a pre-tournament favourite, clocked 51.46s to clinch the yellow metal. (UNI)
