In a first, this Kashmiri girl will play in the Women's IPL

Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday congratulated Kashmiri female cricketer, Jasia Akhter, for being selected in the Women's IPL cricket tournament.
Mr Abdullah, who is the Vice President of National Conference (NC), also helped that she performs successfully in her debut season in the tournament.       "Congratulations to Jasia. I hope she has a very successful debut season playing the Women's IPL cricket tournament," Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
 
Jasia, a resident of south Kashmir district of Shopian, will play for Trailblazers in the IPL that will start from May 6 Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.There will be three teams this year's taking part in the women's T20 which include Supernovas, Trailblazers and Velocity.(UNI)
