Ahmedabad: Riding on fantastic fifties by debutant Ishan Kishan and captain Virat Kohli, India bounced back in style as they thrashed England by 7 wickets in the second T20I, to level the five-match series 1-1, here on Sunday.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Indian bowlers pulled things back brilliantly in the last five overs to restrict England to 164/6 in stipulated 20 overs.
Jason Roy (46 off 35) was the top-scorer for India while Washington Sundar (2/29) and Shardul Thakur (2/29) were the pick of the bowlers for India.
In reply, India rode on superb knocks from captain Virat Kohli and debutant Ishan Kishan to gun down the target in 17.5 overs.
Kohli top-scored with 73 not out from 49 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes while Kishan scored 56 off just 32 balls with 5 fours and 4 towering sixes.
Sam Curran, Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid picked one wicket each for England. (UNI)
