Tauranga: Mithali Raj achieved an incredible feat in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup match against Pakistan at the Bay Oval here on Sunday.

Mithali equalled the record held by India batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, playing in six different World Cup tournaments.

The 39-year-old Mithali, who made her World Cup debut in 2000, played in 2005, 2009, 2013, 2017 and now in 2022 edition.

Tendulkar featured in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2011 men's ODI World Cups. Overall, only three cricketers have achieved the feat with Pakistan great Javed Miandad (1975, 1979, 1983, 1992 and 1996) being the other.

Mithali also became the first women's cricketer to add this feather to her illustrious career. She surpassed New Zealand's Debbie Hockley and Charlotte Edwards of England.

Meanwhile, veteran speedster Jhulan Goswami sits in second place on the list, with five World Cup tournament appearances. (UNI)
