Jemimah Rodrigues produced a sensational century as India defeated Australia to secure a place in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Final.

Scoring 127 off 134 balls, Jemimah anchored India’s record-breaking chase — the highest successful run chase in Women’s ODI history — to seal a memorable five-wicket victory at Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

This win propels India into their third ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Final, following their previous appearances in 2005 and 2017.

The 25-year-old star batter displayed remarkable composure, notching up her maiden World Cup century. After early setbacks, Jemimah built a vital 167-run partnership with captain Harmanpreet Kaur (89), steering India back into the contest after Kim Garth’s early strikes removed Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana during the powerplay.

Though Kaur’s dismissal by Annabel Sutherland gave Australia a glimmer of hope, Jemimah maintained her poise to reach her ton and guide India within touching distance of victory. Late cameos from Richa Ghosh (26) and Deepti Sharma (24) further steadied the chase, before Amanjot Kaur (15) sealed the win with a boundary.

Earlier, Australia had posted a daunting 339-run total, powered by Phoebe Litchfield’s maiden World Cup century (119 off 80) and Ellyse Perry’s composed 77. Despite early breakthroughs by Kranti Gaud and Sree Charani’s crucial double strike, late fireworks from Ash Gardner (63 off 54) ensured Australia crossed the 300 mark.

For India, Sree Charani (2/49) and Deepti Sharma (2/73) were the standout bowlers, setting the stage for Jemimah’s historic knock.

With this remarkable win, India now advances to face South Africa in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Final in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
