India has launched its official Olympic theme song 30 days before the upcoming Tokyo Olympics in July-August. Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju was present in this program held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. Besides, the President of the Indian Olympic Association, the Secretary-General, the Director-General of the Sports Authority of India and other officials accompanying the Olympic contingent were also present.
Famous singer Mohit Chauhan has composed and sung this theme song, titled 'Lakshya Tera Saamne Hai'. A short speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can also be heard in this theme song. PM Modi can be seen saying, "If a player runs in any corner of the world with the tricolour in his hand, he fills the whole of India with energy."
On this occasion, Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said in his statement, "Today is Olympic Day and the 30-day countdown to Tokyo Olympics has been kicked off. All preparations have been made for Tokyo Olympics. We wish that our players put up their best show and create records. From PM to common man, everyone will encourage Indian athletes."
He further added, “Earlier we used to represent very few sports, but this time our athletes will represent the country in different sports categories. Some are very new to us where Indians have never represented before. We expect a better medal tally in Tokyo Olympics. Looking forward to the results."
The Tokyo Olympic Games will begin on July 23 for which more than 100 Indian athletes have qualified so far.(WD)
