India wins U17 women's team title at World Wrestling Championships

India has clinched the U17 women’s team title at the World Wrestling Championships, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) announced today.In a celebratory post on X, WFI wrote, “India wins U17 Women’s Team Title at the World Wrestling Championship with 151 pts! Ahead of the USA (2nd) & Japan (3rd). A proud moment for Indian young wrestlers!”According to WFI, the Indian Women’s wrestling team bagged a total of six medals- two golds, three silvers and one bronze.

The achievement marks a historic back to back triumph for India’s U17 women’s wrestling team on the world stage. With a total of 151 points, India outperformed wrestling powerhouses USA, who secured 142 points and Japan, secured third position with 113 points. (UNI)<>
