Amritsar: After bringing laurels to the country at the Tokyo Olympics, Indian men's hockey players on Wednesday arrived here to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple.
They landed at Sri Guru Ram Dass International Airport to a rousing welcome by Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Khaira.
From the airport, the players headed for Sri Darbar Sahib, where they offered their prayers.
On the occasion, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir
Kaur felicitated the bronze medal winning men's hockey team and Gurjeet Kaur-- women's hockey team member-- at the Tokyo Olympics.
SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur handed over a cheque of Rs 1 crore to the Indian men's hockey team for winning the bronze medal. (UNI)
