Indian Women's ODI, T20I team for England tour announced

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday named the women's ODI and T20I team to tour England.India will play three T20Is and as many as ODIs in England starting September 10.

Jhulan Goswami will tour England with the ODI team. Kiran Navgire who made an impression at domestic level and in the Women’s T20 Challenge earlier this year, was called up to the T20I squad.

There was no room for Yastika Bhatia, who had made an appearance in the CWG 2022 final as a concussion substitute, in the T20I squad, but she retained her place in the ODI squad.

Jemimah Rodrigues, who was ruled out of The Hundred in England with a wrist injury, was named in both squads led by Harmanpreet Kaur.

Dayalan Hemalatha, who last played a T20I in 2019, was also recalled to the squad. She also features in the ODIs, where her last appearance came at home against South Africa in 2021.

The T20Is will be the first assignment for India after winning the Silver at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham earlier this month.The home side will look to avenge the semifinal loss by 4 runs which averted the english side to step up on the podium despite being a host nation after going down against Kiwis in the bronze medal match.
