New Delhi: India's tour of West Indies, which was to start right after the ICC World Cup, has reportedly been postponed by two weeks on Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) request.
Cricket West Indies has agreed to the BCCI's request of pushing back India's 2019 tour of the Caribbean by a couple of weeks, ESPNcricinfo reported on Wednesday. According to the report, now, the tour is likely to begin around the first week of August.

Under the ICC's Future Tour Program (FTP), India were supposed to play two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and as much T-20 matches. The dates for the tour are said to be finalised by May 13, CricInfo further reported.

The BCCI also urged the Cricket West Indies (CWI) to include a three-day warm-up match during the India tour. Now, CWI have to change the scheduled for Carribean Premier League (CPL), which was initially scheduled to begin from August 21.

The World Cup is scheduled to begin from May 30 in England and Wales and the final will be played on July 14. A total of ten teams are participating in the quadrennial tournament. (UNI)
