Christchurch: India lost the three-match ODI series against New Zealand 0-1 after the third game was called off due to rain here on Wednesday.
Sent in to bat first, India were bundled out for 219 in 47.3 overs with Washington Sundar (51) and Shreyas Iyer (49) being the top scorer.
Adam Milne and Daryl Mitchell picked up three wickets each to peg India back. Thanks to Iyer's 49 followed by Sundar's first ODI half-century India managed to get past 200-run mark.
In reply, riding on Finn Allen's 54-ball 57 and Devon Conway's 38 not out in 51 balls, New Zealand were at 104 for 1, well ahead of the DLS target, when rain took centre stage again and the players were taken off the field.
Since the 20-over mark had not been reached as rain showed no signs of relenting, the umpires decided to call off the game.
The second ODI was also washed out. New Zealand had won the first ODI in Hamilton by seven wickets.
India had earlier won the three-match T20I series 1-0.
Brief scores: India: 219 all out in 47.3 overs (Washington Sundar 51, Shreyas Iyer 49; Adam Milne 3/57, Daryl Mitchell 3/25).
New Zealand: 104 for 1 in 18 overs (Finn Allen 57; Umran Malik 1/31). (UNI)
