New Delhi: IOS Sports and Entertainment, one of India’s leading sports management organisations, have announced the on-boarding wrestler siblings, Geeta and Babita Phogat to their sports family.

Hailing from a family of wrestlers, the Phogat sisters, Babita and Geeta have been in the limelight due to their athleticism while representing India on world stages.

The 33-year-old freestyle wrestler, Geeta, scripted history when she won the first ever gold medal for the country at the 2010 commonwealth Games in New Delhi. Later she became the first Indian female wrestler to qualify for summer Olympic games.

On her partnership with IOS Geeta said: "I am excited to have IOS sports as a part of my team. They have a plethora of decorated Olympic and Paralympic players associated with them along with many upcoming athletes. Their work with them has been tremendous and I am looking forward to an exciting partnership with them."

Babita, has always encouraged women empowerment and has found IOS sports as her perfect partner to support her in this journey as well. She said, "It was important for me to have a specialist onboard to manage my commercial interests so that I can plan my career ahead in a better manner and I am glad to have IOS, who are one of the best as my partners.

"I strongly believe in women empowerment and I want to inspire the younger generation with my experiences not only in wrestling, but in the field they are good at. Along with this I would like to further my contribution to Indian Wrestling in the days ahead."

"It’s a pleasure for us to have the iconic Phogat sisters onboard with us. Their journey is one that has been seen by the world and shall be an inspiration for many. We are keenly looking forward to working with Geeta and Babita. I believe their experience mixed with ours will allow them as well as us to grow further and set up new adventures to explore." (UNI)
