IPL 2020: DC beat KKR by 18 runs, RCB beat RR by 8 wickets, DC go on top of the points table

Sharjah: Delhi Capitals registered their third win of the IPL 2020 after beating Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs in the 16th match of tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, here on Saturday.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals posted a huge total of 228-4 in 20 overs courtesy scintillating knocks by Shreyas Iyer (88 off 38) and Prithvi Shaw (66 off 41). Apart from Iyer and Prithvi, Rishabh Pant (38 off 17) and Shikhar Dhawan (26 off 16) also played crucial innings.

In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 210/8 in 20 overs and lost the match by 18 runs.

Nitish Rana (58 off 35) and Eoin Morgan (44 off 18) tried their best but couldn’t help KKR cross the victory line.

After this win, Delhi Capitals are now leading the points table on the basis of NRR.

Earlier in the day, skipper Virat Kohli 72 off 53 (7 fours, 2 sixes) not out and Padikkal 63 off 45 (6 fours, 1 six) and 99 run stand between them for the second wicket helped RCB beat RR by 8 wickets here at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

RR posted 154/6 in 20 overs while RCB after losing 2 wickets scored 158 in 19.1 over winning the game easily.

RCB from 4 matches have won 3 and are at top of the IPL table with 6 points while RR from 4 matches have won 2 losing today’s match and are at third last in bottom. (UNI)
