IPL 2020 schedule announced, MI to face CSK in season opener

Mumbai: The IPL Governing Council on Sunday announced the schedule for Indian Premier League 2020, to be held in UAE.

The season will kickstart on September 19 in Abu Dhabi with a clash, between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

The action will move to Dubai on September 20, when Delhi Capitals will begin their campaign against Kings XI Punjab, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad’s opening clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on September 21.

Sharjah’s first match will be held on September 22, between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings.

There will be 10 double headers, with the first match starting at 1530 hrs IST. All evening matches will start at 1930 hrs IST.

In all, 24 matches will be held in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi, and 12 in Sharjah.

The venues for the playoffs and the IPL 2020 final will be announced later. (UNI)
