New Delhi: Mumbai Indians leg spinner Rahul Chahar has expressed concern over the health of his cousin and Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar, who tested positive for COVID-19 and wished him a speedy recovery.
IPL 2020 got hit by coronavirus on Friday as 13 CSK members including two Indian players tested positive, derailing the franchise’s return to training camp in the UAE.
BCCI did not reveal the identity of the two players, but the social media posts of Malti Chahar and Deepak Chahar, sister and brother of CSK pacer revealed that Chahar was one of them.
“You are a true warrior, born to fight. Day is brighter after the darkest night. May you come out stronger than ever before. With love & prayers, waiting to see you roar,” Malti Chahar posted on Instagram.
Deepak Chahar’s cousin Rahul, who is also in UAE with his team, joined his sister in wishing a speedy recovery for his elder brother.
“Stay strong brother, hoping for your speedy recovery and all my prayers for you get well soon @deepak_chahar9,” Rahul wrote.
Deepak, who has played 34 IPL matches till date, is an important member of CSK’s pace-unit and his recovery will be very crucial for the team’s success in the cash-rich tournament.
The IPL is scheduled to being on September 19 and will be played in Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. (UNI)
