IPL 2022: Bottom-placed MI to play struggling KKR

Mumbai: Mumbai Indians (MI) will be up against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an Indian Premier League match here at the DY Patil Stadium on Monday.

MI are rooted at the bottom of the standings with two wins in 10 outings, while KKR have four wins to their name and are at eighth place on the points table.

Mumbai are coming on the back of two wins in a row and will be looking to maintain the same momentum against KKR, who suffered a huge 75-run loss at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants.

For KKR, Andre Russell is in good touch, having hit a 19-ball 45 in the previous game. Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana have also contributed some crucial runs in the middle order. Spinner Sunil Narine and pacer Umesh Yadav will lead the bowling charge.

MI openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have showcased a fine form in the last match and will look to convert the starts into big against KKR. Suryakumar Yadav has hit three half-centuries, while Tim David has played a couple of momentum-generating knocks towards the end of the innings.

Jasprit Bumrah along with youngsters Hrithik Shokeen and Kumar Kartikeya will take charge of the bowling attack against Knight Riders.
