Kolkata: The wheel seems to have turned a full circlet for South African batter David Miller in less than three and a half months.
On February 12, Miller had remained unsold in the IPL mega auction. On Tuesday he gave an awesome display of Power-hitting to carry his side Gujarat titans to the final of the tournament.
After a scintillating batting display that fetched him the player of the match award, Miller said he was playing closer to his gameplan and enjoying his role on the ground for the Gujarat Titans.
Asked what has changed for him since February 12, Miller said; "Opportunity". "I have been given a good role and given an extended run. Have good backing from the outside. For my personal game, I am enjoying my role. I have played long time but I am understanding my game better. "
"I am trying to keep everything closer to my gameplan," said Miller," who remained unconquered with a 38-ball 68, studded with three fours and fie over bourdaries.
Miller was at his destructive best in the final over bowled by Prasidh Krishna, as he sent the medium pacer out of the ground thrice successively to finish the game with a bang.
"Here's been a lot of people going wide outside off stump, so I decided to step that side. I knew they had a certain plan," he said.
Asked about the mindset of a finisher, Miller said: "You got to control what you can. Can't think too much ahead and what WILL happen. You need to concentrate on your breathing, and if it's in your area you have to do it. It's the last over, so you know no more balls left". (UNI)
