Mumbai: After seven consecutive defeats, Mumbai Indians (MI) will look to notch their first win of the 2022 season when they play Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League match here at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

Rohit Sharma's Mumbai are rooted at the bottom of the standings, while KL Rahul-led Lucknow are placed fourth with four wins in seven games.

In their last outings, MI suffered a three-wicket loss at the hands of arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings. LSG, on the other hand, suffered an 18-run loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

For MI, skipper Rohit is yet to impress with his batting prowess. Ishan Kishan, too, has lost his form after hitting half-centuries in first two games.

The likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Dewald Brevis, and Tilak Varma have been the only positives.

Bowling wise, Jasprit Bumrah has been economical, but he has struggled to affect dismissals. Daniel Sams, Hrithik Shokeen, Riley Meredith and Jayadev Unadkat will look to create obstacles for LSG batters.

LSG have a balanced batting order, with skipper Rahul, Quinton de Kock at the top of the order.

Rahul has hit a century against MI in their previous clash this season. Krunal Pandya scored an explosive 42 and returned with the figures of 1/29 in four overs in LSG's last outing against RCB. He along with Marcus Stoinis and Deepak Hooda can form a strong middle order.

In the bowling unit, the trio of Avesh Khan, Dushmantha Chameera, and Jason Holder can pose a threat to MI batting unit.
