LSG vs PBKS: Lucknow bowler Digvesh Singh fined 25 percent of match fees for 'notebook' send-off to Punjab batsman Priyansh Arya

Lucknow: Lucknow Super Giants bowler Digvesh Singh has been fined 25 per cent of his match fees and has also accumulated One Demerit Point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Punjab Kings at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium here on Tuesday night.

Singh was reprimanded for his send-off to Punjab batsman Priyansh Arya in the third over of PBKS’ chase of 172. Singh replicated West Indian bowler Kesrick Williams famous 'notebook' send-off.

Digvesh Singh admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction.

For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.

Meanwhile. Punjab Kings delivered a commanding performance to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets, chasing down a target of 172 in just 16.2 overs.

Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer both struck fluent half-centuries to ensure a comfortable victory with 22 balls to spare.

With this win, Punjab Kings extended their unbeaten streak in the league, asserting themselves as strong contenders early in the season.
