Mumbai: Mumbai police on Tuesday arrested actor-producer Kamal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK, for his alleged controversial tweets from 2020.
KRK was arrested by Malvani police after he landed at the Mumbai Airport. He will be produce before Borivali Court later in the day, according to Mumbai Police.
An FIR was registered against him on a complaint by Shiv Sena youth wing member Rahul Kanal regarding derogatory tweets posted by the actor.
On April 30, Khan took to Twitter to announce Rishi Kapoor’s hospitalisation and said the actor must not die as wine shops were set to open soon.
Similarly a day before the death of actor Irfan Khan on April 29, KRK took pot-shots at celebrated star.
Police has registered case under section 294 (punishment for obscene acts or words in public) and other provisions under the Indian Penal Code. (UNI)
