Colombo:Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have adjusted the start date of Lanka Premier League from November 14 to 21 to ensure the players get adequate time to adhere to 'Quarantine Requirements' as stated by the Government's health regulations.
The move to change the schedule is also to give a chance for cricketers participating in the ongoing IPL 2020 to make it to the LPL. The Player Draft will now take place on October 9 instead of October 1.

"Since the IPL will go until the 10th of November, we thought to keep some space for the players taking part in the IPL, and who wish to make it to the LPL to take part in the tournament'' said Ravin Wickramaratne, The Tournament Director of LPL.

Initially, the LPL was set to take place between August 28 to September 20, but was postponed due to the constantly evolving Covid-19 situation.

The League will be played at three international venues - Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium and Suriyawewa Mahinda Rajapakse International Cricket Stadium.(UNI)
