Light to moderate rains predicted in Ranchi on Oct 9, Will it affect IND vs SA 2nd ODI match?

Ranchi: Rain is likely to play its role during the second One Day International which will be played at JSCA International Cricket Stadium complex on Sunday as according to the weather station the moist winds coming from Bay of Bengal will result in light to moderate showers on that day.

The Meteorological Center located near Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi has said that on October 9, there will be rain in Ranchi in the second half of the afternoon.

The weather station has also said that the match is unlikely to be adversely affected due to this rain. The MET has predicted that there would be light to moderate rainfall at isolated places for the next five days.

The weather station said that there would be light to moderate rainfall on October 9 and there is also a possibility of thunderstorms however as no system is forming so there is no chance of heavy rain. Therefore the match in Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) stadium will not be much disturbed.

The weather station said that this rain falls will be for a short duration while rest of the time it is likely to remain clear. The situation will remain like this for the next 5 days and moist air is coming from the Bay of Bengal. In the morning, due to the strong sunlight, the wind rises rapidly and forms clouds, due to which rain is accompanied by thunderstorms.

The first ODI between the two sides in Lucknow saw a curtailed game of 40 overs due to rainfall. (UNI)
