Liton Das’s PSL mission over due to injury

Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Liton Das' first Pakistan Super League (PSL) stint ended even before the player could take the field for Karachi Kings.Liton suffered a finger injury during a practice session and will be returning to the country on Saturday, The Daily Star reported.

"I was truly excited to play in the PSL for Karachi Kings, but the Almighty had other plans. During a practice session, I picked up a finger injury. Scans revealed a hairline fracture, and recovery will take at least 2 weeks," Liton wrote on his official Facebook page today. He suffered the injury in Karachi's practice session on Thursday.

"So sadly, my PSL mission is over before it even began. I'm flying back to Bangladesh and seeking your prayers & love for a quick recovery. Wishing the very best of luck to my team Karachi Kings,"he added.

Liton also confirmed the news to The Daily Star over the phone today.Liton and leg-spinner Rishad Hossain were granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for the entire season of PSL, which got underway on Friday and will run till May 18.

Rishad, however, did not start for Lahore Qalandars in their eight-wicket defeat to defending champions Islamabad United in Rawalpindi on Friday.Australian wicketkeeper-batter Ben McDermott joined Karachi Kings as a replacement for Liton.

Liton's Karachi Kings will open their tournament against Multan Sultans at the National Stadium in Karachi on Saturday (9:00pm Bangladesh Time).(UNI)<>
